Head 2 Toe Project

AADA Community Service Project, Head 2 Toe – Atlanta

Each year, the Alliance of the American Dental Association (AADA) coordinates the Head 2 Toe Project which supports a local organization in need.  The project is held in conjunction with the ADA’s Annual Meeting, and this year it will occur in Atlanta where AADA will be supporting two local Atlanta organizations.  The International Women’s House (IWH) provides a safe haven and supportive services for women and children who are victims of family violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, with a focus on refugee and immigrant women and their children, cultural sensitivity, and self-sufficiency. Covenant House Georgia (CHGA) serves homeless and trafficked youth by providing safe, accessible housing to youth living on the streets, and offers them encouragement and services empowering them to achieve self-sufficiency and become a productive adult.

Henry Schein Cares has generously provided AADA with oral health care items (toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste and mouthwash) for 1500 recipients, but we now need your support to help fill the bags by bringing additional supplies and attending the AADA Dental Health Education (DHE) Luncheon where we will fill them.  Items needed include hats, gloves, socks, packages of underwear and scarves in all sizes, along with gift cards (Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, gas cards, shoe stores, MARTA passes, etc.) and hotel or travel size personal care items.  If you live locally, additional items such as sheets, blankets, towels, washcloths, cleaning products, paper products, umbrellas, first aid items, disposable gloves, and toys and games for children would be appreciated.

The DHE luncheon will occur on Friday, October 20th from 12:30-2:30 PM at the Atlanta Hilton Hotel (the AADA hotel), which is located at: 255 Courtland St NE,  Atlanta, GA 30303.  Reservations will be required to eat lunch through AADA, but we welcome all to help us put together the kits! During the luncheon, we will hear from representatives from both organizations, eat our lunch and package the 1500 Head 2 Toe Kits. This will be a wonderful event, and we thank you for your generosity as we work together to help those in need in Georgia!

For further information regarding attending the luncheon or donating to the Head 2 Toe project, please contact AADA Staff:  Lissette Zuknick or Kelsey Bulnes at:  info@allianceada.org or P: 813-540-2154.
